Floor, wall and mosaic tile across Wilmington and New Castle County.
Tile is unforgiving in a way most finishes are not. Paint can be recoated and carpet can be relaid, but a floor set out of square is a floor that has to come up. That is why the layout is worked out before a single tile is stuck down: where the full tiles land, where the cut pieces fall, and which line your eye follows when you walk into the room. Done properly the cuts end up somewhere sensible, under a vanity or against a wall, rather than as a two-centimetre sliver in the middle of the doorway. The work covers straightforward floor and wall tile through to mosaic, marble and pattern work, and the harder patterns are worth naming because they are where the difference shows. A herringbone, a Greek-key border or an encaustic pattern has to be set out from a centreline and held there across the whole room; if it drifts, the pattern breaks and everybody sees it. Underneath, the substrate is checked flat and sound first, because tile telegraphs every dip and every soft spot beneath it. Grout and trim finish the edges properly rather than filling them.
Hardwood, luxury vinyl plank and laminate through living space, laid to run with the room rather than against it.
03Shower walls, floors, pans and niches, with the waterproofing prep done before any tile is set over it.
04Backsplashes and kitchen floors, cut around outlets and cabinet runs so the pattern still reads as one piece.
05Subfloor flattening, old flooring removal and tile repairs, which is where most failed floors actually went wrong.
Tile is not a trade you can rush or hand off halfway. The person who measures your floor is the person who sets it.

Where the full tiles land and where the cuts fall is decided before anything is stuck down.
Set to a line, spaced consistently, then grouted and trimmed so the edges are finished rather than filled.
